Diesel power generation
Many VHF and microwave relay stations were installed in the middle of nowhere and often where there was no mains power available. The use of diesel generators therefore was a must have and Mick Ford, a Marconi diesel engineer, documented many of his experiences in a paper entitled “Diesel Engine Power for Microwave Relay Systems”.
